Jimena got a double degree in Civil Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, (Argentina) and at Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Saint-Etienne (France) in 2009. She perused most of her studies in Argentina and spent the fifth year of the programme in France. In 2012, she won the Argentine Presidential Fellowship in Science and Technology administered by the Argentina’s Fulbright Commission allowing her to study at the University at Buffalo (US), where she obtained a M.Sc. degree in Structural and Earthquake Engineering. Before joining IUSS’ “Understanding and Managing Extremes” programme, she worked for six years in the industry in Argentina, France and the US.
